Sketch! Like Your Life Depends On It!
The objectives of this project are as follows:
- To identify a personal and expressive response to visual simulation.
- To apply basic principles and elements of design and drawing as a language to visualise and to communicate ideas.
Each student is then required to produce 8 number of sketches on suitable A5 size paper (landscape) Students are required to sketch the followings; (free hand sketches)
A.Body Parts / Figure / Nature
B. Object Projection
C. Detail of an object
D. Geometric Projection
E. Tracing a picture (rendering)
F. One point Perspective in Taylor's University
G. Two point Perspective in Taylor's University
H. Artistic Representation of a famous building
Throughout this project, I have learned to identify the fundamental principles, elements and techniques in sketching, drawing, design process and presentation skills. I learned how to draw some basic drawing required in architecture such as one point perspective and two points perspective. I also learn how to sketch an object and hatch shadows. These are things I had never learned before. I need more practice to improve my skill. I know these skills are very important for my future study. I thanks my lecturer for giving me a chance to do this project.
Project 1B
Orthographic Drawings & Diagrams
The objectives of this project are as follows:
- To apply basic principles and elements of design and drawing as a language to visualise and to communicate ideas.
- To demonstrate observation and visualisation skills in a variety of ways depending on the area of specialisation being pursued with an emphasis on the process of drawing.
Students will be given a space of about 10mx15m (not more) in TUC whereby they will have to measure and observe the site.
Students are required to produce the followings on white art block A3 size papers.
- 1 plan (one A3)
- 2 elevations + 1 section (two A3)
- 2 details (two A3)
- 1 location plan+ 1 sketched perspective (one A3)
- 1 bubble diagram(s)
- 1 sketched axonometric diagram (one A3)
2. Plan Drawing.
3. Elevation Drawing.
4. Section Drawing.
5. Axonometric Drawing.
6. Detail drawing of site.
7. Detail drawing of toy.
8. Bubble Diagram.
Project 2A: Site Analysis.
In this project, students are required to analysis the site given and draw a maximum of 15 A3 artblock to present the data that we analysis-ed. After the site analysis, we are required to design a toy casing that fit our site.

Reflection:
After this project, I learn how to design and arrange a big presentation board. Composition on a board is very important in order to create a good presentation board. We need to decide which part is the most attractive part and how we make it become attractive. It also require teamwork to do this board as this is not a man job. If one part didn't do well, it may destroy the whole board. I learn that teamwork is important to produce a good presentation board.
Project 2B: Design Process & Proposal
In this part, students are required to purpose their idea to the toy company. The toy company is own lecturer. This part is 5% of overall of this project. In this part, students are required to draw the toy casing draft on A3 presentation board. Students are also required to do a mock up to show their model. Student also need to draw their presentation board layout.
Reflection
Through this part, I learn design process is a important path to come out with more idea. Before we achieve something, we need to go through process, try and error before we get the best idea. Time management is also important in this part as if we don't we cannot complete our task.
Project 2C: Toy Display Box Presentation
In this part, students are required to pin up their final presentation board and display box. Students need to explain their concept and ideas to the toy company.

Reflection:
In this final project, I learn how to make a model by myself. It is actually fun. Choosing material was the part of it as different material brings out different effect. Every element like color can affect the design that created. This is my 1st time present my information to someone. It feels nervous however I can handle it. Thanks to lecturer for giving a project like this that let me learn many things new throughout this whole project. Thanks to all whoever helped me!
