Assignment 1: Descriptive / Narrative Essay

In this project, students are required to choose a tool and observe it for a week. The chosen tool could be any item around us which we would then observe and analyze before writing a well-developed and well-organized descriptive and narrative essay. We were also to provide a drawing of the object that we were observing.


In this project, I learn how to write a descriptive and narrative essay. I learn to observe something before started to do anything. It had actually some method to write these kind of essay. I am lucky enough to given a chance to write a essay. Thanks to my lecturer for giving me a chance.

Assignment 2:Compare and contrast essay.
This is an individual work. Students are required to compare two types of movies which are:
a) Romantic comedies 

OR 
b) Animated films  
The movie that I chose were animated films, Cinderella and Snow white. Students were also required to provide references in APA style.

  
In this project, I learn how to compare 2 characters in these 2 movies. It actually need some points to compare two essay. These 2 characters can be compared from backgrounds and also their journey in the story. I learn more about the disney characters from these essay.

Assignment 3: In class debate.
In this assignment, we are required to form a group of 4 to have a debate session in the class. My teammates are Goh, Shirley and Sim. We are given a title "Drug addiction laws are repressive,restrictive and backward. Malaysiashould adopt enlightened approaches like the Netherlands." 

We are the team that againt this title, we are not allow drug to bring into Malaysia. I am the forth speaker, here are my points as conclucsion:

"As conclusion, we shouldn't bring in drugs, although drugs maybe useful in some of countries, however it is still new in this country. People may overdose or overuse the drugs and causes some unwanted incidents to happen. As the report shown, the drugs abuse in Malaysia is decreasing from year to year. If we bring in the drugs, it may only increase the case of drug abuses. So, we must strictly follow the rules that Malaysia shouldn't bring in drugs into this country."

In this project, I learn how to debate in front of many audience. It was actually frightening and nervous. However as I speak more, it getting better. I now can speak in front of many people without any frightening or nervous. Besides, I learn about the law about Malaysia and how it actually help the people in this country. I learn alot throughout this assignment. Thanks to my lecturer for giving me a chance to debate in the class. Much appreciated.  

 Assignment 4: A Tale of 3 Businesses.
In this assignment, we are required to form a group of 5 to 6 people to interview 3 businesses that have a same industry. The groups members in our groups are:

The 3 businesses that we chose are food industry which were:

1. JC's Pancakes
2. Yummy Yummy Duck
3. Coliseum Cafe


In this project, I learn how to interview by face to face asking them question that we had set. I knew that made a business is not an easy task and it required time, people and alot of patient.I also learn the history among these business and all the challenges and difficulties they met in the mid of building their business. On the other hand, I learn how to make a powerpoint slide to present the data that we had. I love this assignments as it was actually fun and required teamwork from all the group members. Thanks to all my group members for giving much cooperation and teamwork to complete this task. Thanks to all!
